Rewind trauma therapy

Closure, without disclosure

What is rewind trauma therapy?

Rewind therapy is a gentle, effective approach for reducing the emotional intensity of traumatic memories without needing to talk about them in detail.

It works by using relaxed focus and mental imagery to change how the brain stores distressing events.

That means no deep-diving into painful details, no need to tell the whole story, and no pressure to explain things you’re not ready to share.

It’s a structured, evidence-based process that can bring rapid relief in just a few sessions.

Who it’s for

This might be for you if:

  • You’re living with flashbacks, nightmares, or anxious “replays” of a traumatic event.
  • You want help but the idea of talking it all through feels overwhelming, exposing, or just too much.
  • You’re neurodivergent and need an approach that respects your sensory and cognitive needs.
  • You’ve tried therapy before, but talking made things worse or didn’t help.
  • You’re functioning on the outside, but still haunted on the inside.

Rewind offers an alternative. A way to process difficult memories privately, safely, and without reliving the pain.

How it works

Rewind uses a specific set of steps, guided by me, to help the brain recode traumatic memories so they no longer trigger the same intense emotional and physical responses.

You’ll stay in full control the whole time. It’s a bit like watching a film in your mind, but you’re the one holding the remote.

We don’t go into all the details. You don’t need to describe what happened. And you can pause, rewind, or stop at any point.

For single-event trauma, people often feel significant relief after just one to three sessions.

What to expect

  • You’ll never be asked to share anything you’re not comfortable with.
  • We’ll move at your pace, and I’ll explain everything beforehand so you know what to expect.
  • Sessions can be 60 or 90 minutes, priced at £80 per hour.
  • Some people book Rewind as a stand-alone process, others integrate it within ongoing therapy.
  • You’ll be supported throughout and afterwards too.

The whole process is designed to feel contained, private, and emotionally safe.

Reassurance & accessibility

  • You don’t have to “do it right” for it to work. Many people worry they’ll struggle to visualise or get it wrong, but the process is adaptable and we work together to find what works for your brain.
  • You stay in control. You don’t need to explain or justify anything. This is your process, not mine.
  • It’s suitable for a wide range of people, including neurodivergent, disabled, trans and non-binary clients, and those from culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • There’s no need to commit to long-term therapy if that’s not what you want. Rewind is a brief intervention, and for many, that’s exactly what’s needed

I’ll be right there with you, steady, unflappable, and fully present.

How this differs from other therapy

Rewind isn’t about endlessly rehashing the past. It’s not a long, analytical process.

It’s focused, brief, and neurologically informed.

And unlike many therapies, it doesn’t demand vulnerability before you feel safe. You don’t have to convince me of your pain. You don’t have to perform your trauma.

You get to stay private. You get to stay in charge.

And often, you get to feel better much sooner than you thought possible.

Frequently asked questions

Any questions I've not covered? Click the button below to get in touch.

Get in touch
  • Do I have to talk about what happened?

No. That’s one of the biggest advantages of Rewind. You stay in control of what, if anything, you share. The process works without disclosure.

  • What if I’ve experienced complex or repeated trauma?

Rewind can still be effective, and we can adapt it to work safely with more complex histories. If you’re unsure, we can talk about whether it feels right for you.

  • Is it weird that this sounds a bit… weird?

Nope. Totally normal. Rewind doesn’t follow the traditional talk-it-out therapy model, and that can feel a bit odd at first. But there’s solid evidence behind it, including NHS studies and randomised clinical trials.

  • What if I’ve tried therapy before and it didn’t help or made things worse?

That’s sadly common, especially with trauma. Rewind is different. It’s not about analysing or re-experiencing your trauma, but gently shifting how it’s held in your nervous system.

  • Is it suitable if I’m neurodivergent?

Yes. The process can be tailored to your sensory, cognitive and communication preferences. Many neurodivergent clients find Rewind much more accessible than traditional talk therapy.
